Current position: 1st – CURRENT LEADER OF PFFL
2010 Mid-season Summary (Jan 13th 2010)
SUN Value start – £43.5M
SUN Value current – £44.5M
Most Expensive Player – Torres (£17.5M)
Key men – Terry (124) Torres (110) Dunne (107)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Zhirkov (5)
After a few years in the PFFL wilderness Rob certainly looks like the manager in form – finished second a couple of seasons ago and is leading the PFFL at the moment – could this be the year he gets his 3rd PFFL title (and his first since 1999) – On the downside he has used all his subs but to be fair he has used them well – his subs alone have given him a current net gain of 257 points!! – Dunne has obviously been the best of these notching over 100 points since October – For me there are 2 key elements if Rob is going to match my 3 titles – Plenty of Chelsea cleansheets(he has a ‘block’ of 3 Chelsea defenders – Cech, Ivanovic and Terry) and his most important player Torres – who, despite fitness problems has still managed 110 points so far this season – If Torres can stay fit and play enough games from here till the end of the season I can’t see anyone finishing above the Silverback.

Most Expensive Player – Lampard £18.5M
Key men – Lampard (144), Arshavin (120)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Bendtner –INJ-SUB (13) Neville SUB IN and OUT(9)
Great season for Gok Wren so far with his big guns firing and Milner(82) brought in as a sub and improving all the time at Villa. He has used all his subs and will hope that his current squad stay fit though Bendtner has been out with an injury and is not due back till the end of January and Collins has found it difficult to get back into the Villa side after a minor injury. Bellamy may be subject to rotation at Man City also. As long as Arshavin, Lampard, Vidic and Reina keep bringing in the points I can see Gok staying in that top 3 till the end.

SUN Value start – £51.5M
SUN Value current – £48M
Most Expensive Player – Drogba £13M
Key men – Drogba (197) Crouch (91) Given (90)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – the ‘GEM’ (0) Jenas (5) Walcott(23)
Is it going to be the same old story for Norths – promising start, dismal finish? – well that remains to be seen, he is currently in the Top3 and has been there all season thanks mainly to the magnificent form of Drogba who has scored twice as many points as any other player for the Angels – He will obviously miss him during the ACON but if the Angels can stay in touch over the next few weeks maybe Norths will achieve the previously unthinkable and get his name on some PFFL silverware!! – Has used all 5 of his subs so will hope for no more injuries to add to that of the ‘Black GEM(!)’ Zamora who could be out for a while – a few of his side are rotation risks (Walcott, Insua, Rafael, Carvalho, SWP, Kranjcar and Crouch) well most of them in fact and in the opinion of the author a Top3 finish is asking a lot this season – mid-table at best for this lot me thinks!!

2010 Mid-season Summary (Jan 13th 2010)
SUN Value start – £50.5M
SUN Value current – £48.5M
Most Expensive Player – Rooney (£16M)
Key men – Rooney (182) Fabregas (144) RVP(INJ and subbed OUT - 94)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Ferdinand (13) Mascherano (28)
Always seems to happen to the MooKerr but another season ravaged by Injuries, only this time he has been able to maintain a good position in the league and has a sub in hand over the top 3 – Injuries to Carlton Cole, Ferdinand and occasionally to Fabregas have hampered him but without doubt the biggest blow was dealt as ole-glass-ankles himself Van Persie was badly injured playing in a friendly for Holland – RVP was cruising near the top of the Strikers charts on 94 points when it happened and Kerr had no choice but to get rid – he brought in Carlton Cole who played a game and yep you guessed it got himself injured! – Light though at the end of this injury tunnel – Cole due back soon as is both Fabregas and Ferdinand – his key player though is Rooney (only Drogba has more dreamteam points currently) and the Locksmiths (as well as Fergie, Capello and the rest of England!) will be hoping he stays fit to lead him to PFFL glory! – in my opinion Kerr is a dark horse in this race and I fancy a Top 3 finish for him.

2010 Mid-season Summary (Jan 13th 2010)
SUN Value start – £52M
SUN Value current – £50.5M
Most Expensive Player – Robinho £10M
Key men – Defoe (126) A Cole(120) Gallas (120)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Robinho (6) Arteta – INJ (0)
A season which has slowly improved for Dave sees him perched just outside the top3 and with a couple of subs in hand a title run-in is not out of the question. Has been a little unlucky with injuries to Arteta, Bullard(who he subbed in and then out again) and Andy Johnson – also to Robinho who is now fit but struggling to make the City starting line-up, but he has Defoe who has the best goals-to-minutes played ratio in the Prem at the moment and his defence looks fairly solid with Gomes, Ashley Cole and Gallas his main enforcers – a couple of rotation worries with Aurelio and Malouda but none-the-less a fair showing by the Meerkats and a top 3 place still possible.

2010 Mid-season Summary (Jan 13th 2010)
SUN Value start – £37.5M
SUN Value current – £42.5M
Most Expensive Player – Berbatov (£13M)
Key men – Tevez (155) Essien (108)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Berbatov (60) Heitinga – SUB (12) Bramble (15)
The recent form of Carlos Tevez has been nothing short of outstanding as he has notched 9 goals in the last 10 games and he is starting to look a snip at his auction price of £9.5M. His 155 points tally has pushed ‘Crunch Tyne’ into contention for the title (within 100points of the leader at this stage and you always have a shout) Probably the most frustrating player for Cloker is his £13M striker Berbatov – not really improved from last season and looking nothing like the player he was at Spurs and there is current doubts over his fitness as he carries a knee injury – Heitinga has only managed 12points since being brought in at the start of the window but looks to have settled into a much improving Everton side so could well improve from here on in. Essien is away at the ACON and will be missed until his expected return in February. Another manager with a couple of subs left to burn so who knows maybe the Rookie will cause a surprise!! – I can see him finishing comfortably in a mid table position though.

Most Expensive Player – Bent (£7.5M)
Key men – Bent (128) Dempsey (98) Barry (81)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Woodgate (11) Alex (35) Clichy (36)
A much improved season for Tom (there again you can only go one way after receiving the fabled wooden spoon!) Tom is sitting in 7th spot and still has 3 subs left to improve things if he wishes – probably going to find it hard to break into the top half of the table this season but the signings of Darren Bent (128) and Dempsey (98) for a combined fee of just £10M in the auction look to be shrewd investments now – again injuries have not helped him – Clichy, Alex and Ireland have all had spells on the sidelines and Toure has disappeared to the ACON(will he get his place back at big spending Citeh???) can’t see any fireworks from this team but a mid-table finish on the cards.

Most Expensive Player – Boswinga/Evra (both £9M)
Key men – Agbonlahor (103) Evra (76)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Skrtel (18), Boswinga – INJ – subbed out (18)
Real struggle for the former 2 time league winner and like a lot of teams this season Injuries have played their part with Boswinga (who he has subbed out), Evans, Nasri and Joe Cole having not been involved for most of the season so far also Robbie Keane and Skrtel subject to rotational problems – Dilly still has 3 subs and needs to utilise these to gain ground in the second half of the season – can see it being hard work though and a mid-table finish at best.

Most Expensive Player – Carragher (£9M)
Key men – G.Johnson (86) Carragher (85) Rodallega (76)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Pretty much the whole of my team!!
Another abysmal season beckons me thinks – just read that James has been fit for weeks but Pompey can’t afford to play him cause of a clause in his contract that would cost them £2M quid (great!) Nani has fallen out with Fergie and hasn’t hardly been seen since, Glen Johnson has a medium to long term injury and Owen has been keeping himself out of the cold by sitting on a bench!! – Things can only get better (can’t they?) I do have 2 subs left and will probably have to gamble soon – roll on next years auction!!!!!!!!

SUN Value current – £52.5M
Most Expensive Player – Adebayor (£10M)
Key men – Anelka (102) Valencia (84) Adebayor (64)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Van der Sar (12) Deco (41) Agger (29)
Not a great season for Dan with only the incredibly poor scoring Wheeler below him in the league at present. Injuries have not helped him this season Van der Sar was out for a while, came back, and was out again – Agger looks to be over his injury problems now but Liverpool have been in poor form and Agger has only managed a paltry 29 points so far this season – Anelka should look to profit from Drogba’s absence at the ACON but Dan is missing Adebayor who went to the same tournament – got shot at – and is in mourning! – His other key man is Valencia who is starting to look the part at United now (if not quite a Ronaldo replacement!) – Dan still has a sub left and will be hoping he scrapes through to the KO stages of the cup to keep his season alive.

Most Expensive Player – Gerrard £18.5M
Key men – Vermaelen (144) Gerrard (105)
Biggest Disappointment(s) – Santa Cruz(30), Distin – SUB(1), Jagielka –INJ(0)
(and sitting next to Northy in the auction!!)
Season started badly for Wheels, signing an injured Jagielka didn’t help much and replacing him with Distin hasn’t improved the situation – just one point gained since October!! – Still has 3 subs left and will need to use them pretty soon to have even a slight chance of catching the pack(he’s currently adrift by about 120pts) – on the bright side new Arsenal centre back Vermaelen has been a huge success and he still has Gerrard who will be looking for a better second half to his season – can’t see Wheels avoiding the wooden spoon this season and after back-to-back titles it’s a pretty poor showing to be honest!!.
